Choosing a Book to Read.

I am going to the Pakuranga Library to choose a book to read at my house.

Shapes.

I am learning about circles, squares, triangles and rectangles.  I cut some shapes out of paper.  I made my picture using my creative ideas.  Here is my house made with shapes.  

"My house is a pink house with a yellow, triangle roof.  I am outside my house.  I am playing.  My sun is shining on me."

I Can Recognise and Write - BIG and little

My story - Dad is big.  Hazel is little.  I wrote the story in my book and then Mrs Kerr published it on the laptop and I could choose my tagul shape and my colours.  Writing is a little bit tricky but Miss Te Wao is helping me to write the stories.

My Pattern.

We are learning to make a pattern that continues.  If we make a great pattern, we can give it to our friends and they can finish it off.  They can figure out what comes next in the pattern. 

"My pattern is yellow, blue, yellow, blue.  The next bead would be blue.  I can make a pattern with the blocks too.  I like patterns because they look pretty."

Looking At My Teeth.

The dentist came to look at my teeth in Room 1. They look fantastic!!

I Can Read!

I am trying to read the hard words.  I can look at the pictures to help me.  I can look at the sound and try out the word.  I like to read.

"I like to take my book home and read to my daddy.  My daddy gets a surprise and I can say the words by myself." 

I Am Writing!

First I need to think about my story.  I can draw my picture.   I can copy the day like, Thursday.  I write a sentence to match my picture.  My teacher can help me. Sometimes my friend can help too.

"I like writing about my family.  My little sister is Ruby.  I am doing better now."
